When: Thursday, August 11, 2016, 1:00 – 4:00 P.M.
An opportunity through experiential learning to explore a basic conviction as Lutherans: That all of life in Jesus Christ...flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.
We are called to do God’s work in the world including the work we do together at the ELCA Churchwide Assembly. There are several resources to assist voting members of the 2016 ELCA Churchwide Assembly as they prepare to travel to New Orleans. These resources range from a blessing and sending out for mission to a link to the ELCA Guidebook application.
The ELCA Guidebook will contain all of the information that voting members will need for the Churchwide Assembly, such as the Pre-Assembly Report. Material will be uploaded to the ELCA Guidebook as it is available.
To help you navigate through the ELCA Guidebook app, we will hold webinar trainings prior to the assembly. In addition, training will be available on-site on Monday, Aug. 8. There will be 30-minute ELCA Guidebook training sessions in addition to the assembly orientation, which will be at 1 p.m. on Aug. 8.
There will be a churchwide officer election for vice president at the 2016 Churchwide Assembly by using the “ecclesiastical ballot.”
Three, live, web-based demonstrations will be offered for voting members where you can see how to install the ELCA Organizations & Events app, download the 2016 ELCA Churchwide Assembly guide, and navigate and use the guide features. The resources page provides written instructions for installing the app and downloading the guide. You’ll also find video clips demonstrating guide features and links to other resources to help you comfortably use your tablet and guide for the business of the assembly.
