Transportation, Housing and Meals

Transportation

Participants are responsible for the cost and means of travel to and from DAYLE. Options include air travel, Amtrak, vans or buses. If arriving with a vehicle that requires parking, please notify Erin Daubert at Erin.Daubert@elca.org as soon as possible to receive a VIP parking permit to use during the DAYLE event. Only a limited number of these permits are available.

If you are arriving via air travel and would like to book transportation to and from the airport for a participant and companion, the Gathering transportation team will gladly provide this round-trip transportation. Click here before June 20 to arrange for pick-up and drop-off.

Housing

The DAYLE event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 601 Loyola Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. DAYLE Participants will be housed in this hotel as well. Housing is provided for July 16 and 17.

DAYLE housing is booked directly with the hotel and the DAYLE staff make the housing arrangements and rooming lists. DAYLE covers the costs of sleeping rooms for July 16 and 17. Each sleeping room will house a participant and his or her companion(s).

After the DAYLE event, participants had the option of staying in the Hyatt or moving to stay with their congregations. Any participant who specifically requested to remain in the Hyatt for the Gathering has a room reserved for him/her for the Gathering. Any participant who did not request a room at the Hyatt for the Gathering needs to make his/her own housing arrangements at the assigned hotel. The Gathering transportation team has generously volunteered to transport those participants who will be moving to another hotel after DAYLE concludes. Additional details about this transportation will be given at the event.

Meals

During the DAYLE event all meals are provided. These meals include: dinner on July 16, breakfast, lunch and dinner on July 17, and breakfast on July 18. For those participants who returned the DAYLE Housing Form and Special Needs Form and included special dietary needs information, these special dietary needs will be accommodated.
