For more than 100 years, Lutheran youth have gathered for bible study, worship, service, learning, fellowship and play. These young people have been accompanied by thousands of caring adults who support their growth in faith by creating a safe environment in which they can encounter Christ and each other. It is these dedicated, faithful volunteers, practicing their vocation through the ministry of the Gathering who make it possible. Serving the youth of the church is a vocational calling that requires careful discernment. Each volunteer who serves at the Gathering must agree to
1. follow the terms of a
covenant
(code of conduct) and
2. submit to a
background check and screening
by the ELCA.
There are three volunteer opportunities. Click on each link below to learn more about each category of service.
