Serving the youth of the church
The 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering will invite everyone who attends youth and adults, to mature in their faith by encountering Jesus in the humanity of New Orleans, and returning home to practice discipleship. Discipleship includes studying scripture, praying, knowing the world around us, actively helping and truly caring about others.
We need 200 young adult Servant Companions to help lead 36,000 high school youth and adult leaders through a variety of experiences. Each Servant Companion will help welcome, lead, facilitate and care for congregational groups through the Youth Gathering experiences in New Orleans.
Eligibility: Applicants must be between the ages of 19 and 30 by the time of the Gathering in 2012 and in good health.
If accepted to serve as a Servant Companion at the 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering, you are responsible for the following:
- Transportation to and from New Orleans, LA, and parking on-site, if applicable.
- Arrival before 3:00pm on Monday, July 16, 2012, through Sunday, July 22, departing after 3:00 pm.
The 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering will provide the following:
- Meals on your days of service at the Gathering.
- Complimentary hotel accommodations, with check-in on Monday, July 16, 2012, and check out on Sunday, July 22, 2012.
- Travel assistance of $200 per individual.
