Bible Times

The Bible is filled with Old and New Testament characters who have honored God’s presence and played role in shaping God’s salvation story. They represent people of all ages with a variety of different backgrounds and lifestyles. They have all been called to be God’s “hands” and “feet” and “voice” to speak.

Children, youth and adults will have the opportunity to consider ways they might share their faith as they become familiar with the many God-given gifts Bible characters were given to shape and share God’s story.

The following story presentations will give life and breath to people who have named, claimed and proclaimed God’s story, in word or deed. They are designed to be presented within the context of a “live” TV program entitled The Proclamation Station.’ A bumbling, dramatic, well-intending MC named O-me-o-miah interacts with the audience and introduces Bible characters of all ages who “come” out of a large Bible to highlight the role they played. Instructions for making a Bible backdrop to set the stage for your presentations are included each submission.

The following submissions provide a template for a library of other stories that will be available beginning February 1005. They include an introduction to each character, a story script and an outline of the preparations necessary for its presentation. (Note: This is a work in progress. As additional offerings are submitted, they will be posted.)

If you re choosing to share these presentations on a regular basis, you may wish to also create a “Table of Contents” with a listing of all the books in the Old and New Testament to mark the place of the proclaimers as you feature them. A skit entitled ‘Jeremiah and O-me-o-miah” provides a great introduction to this program offering as you plan ongoing occasions for presentation.

You might also wish to set up a timeline of faith proclaimers to recognize their placement throughout history. See Guidelines for FPBN Timeline in the Proclamation Station program outline.

You may wish to submit your own “faith proclaimin’” story. Click on the icon to go to a web page where you may email drawings, pictures and/or stories to recognize family members, church members and residents of your local or global community who have similar gifts and/or stories to share.

“I Want to Give A Shout Out to…” certificates are also available to recognize groups or individuals for similar roles they might play. Click on the icon to download the certificate.
