Today

All over the world, people of all ages are honoring God’s presence and finding their place in God’s ongoing story of salvation. They represent a variety of different backgrounds and lifestyles. They have all been called to be God’s “hands” and “feet” and “voice” to speak.

Children, youth and adults will have the opportunity to consider ways they might share their faith as they become familiar with the many people today who are using their God-given gifts to name, claim, sustain and proclaim God’s story, in word and deed.

The following story presentations will characterize faith proclaimers today. Some of them are designed to be presented within the context of a “live” TV program entitled The Proclamation Station.’ A bumbling, dramatic, well-intending MC named O-me-o-miah interacts with the audience and introduces people of all ages who are giving witness to God’s presence and activity in their lives today.

Children, youth and adults all over the ELCA are also invited to submit their own faith proclaimin’ stories. They may mail or email drawings, pictures and/or stories to recognize people in their homes, churches and local or global communities who have similar gifts to share or stories to tell.

You might also wish to set up a local display to identify your home, church or community to be a proclamation station. Identify names, pictures and stories of people who are still living to shape God’s story through word and deed. You might also wish to set up a timeline of faith proclaimers - to recognize proclaimers today within the context of history. See Guidelines for FPBN Timeline. PDF Format

The following submissions provide a template for a library of other stories that will be available beginning February 1005. They include an introduction to each character, a story script and an outline of the preparations necessary for its presentation. (Note: This is a work in progress. As additional offerings are submitted, they will be posted.)
