First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Centerville, IA

ELCA Mission Builders, together with local volunteers, “added on” to the original facility of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Centerville, Iowa. The addition included a new narthex and an elevator, as well as classrooms.

“Deb Egland, president of the congregation, comments, “Mission Builders gave us the needed help in lining up sub-contractors and organizing the project. They provided energy enthusiasm and a sense of purpose. Programs like this provide so much, especially to a church like ours which is small and out of the mainstream. Having nine additional people with different backgrounds become part of our congregation was wonderful. One of the highlights for the builders and congregation was a night where they had an opportunity to share their faith stories.”

This project completed in 2009.
