ELCA College & University Chaplains Conference

April 12 – 14, 2010

Conference Times
Participants are encouraged to arrive on Monday, April 12 in time for a 6:00 PM fajita dinner at Greg Ronning’s home. Time will be spent sharing what’s happening with you and on your campus. Tuesday will provide a full day of programming, followed by a Texas BBQ at the Masterson Party Barn with special entertainment by the world-famous Harleys!! Wednesday the conference programming concludes with lunch at noon on campus. Those who are able to stay Wednesday night will have the opportunity to explore San Antonio’s famous River Walk and sample the wonderful cuisine offered by a plethora of intriguing restaurants.

ELCA Travel Subsidy
For those chaplains for whom a travel subsidy would make the difference between being able to attend or not, the ELCA/VE is pleased to offer travel assistance. If a travel subsidy is required to attend the conference, please contact Marilyn Olson or Kathie Baker before booking your flights, which must be made through Best Travel.

Note: Participants are responsible for such expenses as (1) registration fee (2) car rental (3) hotel costs and incidentals, and (4) no-host meals/activities. The hotel has a complimentary breakfast.

Participant Registration Fees
Registration fees assist with the cost of some of the meals and contribute toward programming. Guest Fees
Guests who register before March 22 are welcome to join us for all meal functions. Although there is no guest registration fee, the guest meals are in addition to the participant’s registration.

Getting to and from the Airport
There is no shuttle service from the San Antonio airport to Seguin. It is suggested that you confer with colleagues who are attending and car-pool, since some participants will be renting vehicles. As usual we will send out a list of arrival times (if none is listed, it is because the information was not submitted), so that you can coordinate rides..

Monday Evening Dinner
Please make sure you arrive in time to participate in a casual dinner at Greg Ronning’s home about 6 PM. This will provide everyone an opportunity to meet new colleagues, renew friendships, and catch up with colleagues.

Tuesday Special Treat
Following a full day of programming, we’ll have time to relax before heading to the home of former TLU vice president for academic affairs, John Masterson. We’ll enjoy libations, a down-home Texas BBQ and the music of the Harley’s; all in the Masterson Party Barn!
