Augsburg College, Minneapolis, MinnesotaSince its beginning as the first seminary founded by Norwegian Lutherans in America in 1869, Augsburg College has nurtured future leaders in service to the world by providing a high quality education, grounded in the Christian faith, with a focus on community.

Set in a vibrant neighborhood just minutes from downtown Minneapolis, Augsburg’s 23-acre campus is safe and easy to navigate. As part of its life in urban society, as well as because of its Christian traditions, Augsburg remains committed to intentional diversity among its students, staff, and faculty.

Today, as the ELCA’s most diverse institution, Augsburg educates both traditional and nontraditional students, offering undergraduate degrees in over 50 major areas of study and master’s degrees in six. Beyond the classroom, students participate in a wide variety of intercollegiate and intramural sports, musical ensembles, theatre groups, and special interest clubs. Additionally, a variety of student services and programs provide additional support to ensure that all students have the tools to succeed.

An Augsburg education emphasizes service in the community to an extent that is unusual even for a Lutheran college. This is the basis of its service-learning programs and motto “Education for Service.” Augsburg also views the city around its campus as an extension of the campus, rich in opportunities for students to explore, discover, and grow through service, internships, and cultural experiences.
