Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg was founded in 1826 and is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools and Middle States Commission. It is a founding member of the Washington Theological Consortium and operates The Luther Institute in Washington, D.C. Gettysburg Seminary’s special programs include town and country ministry, the Institute for Luther Studies, and youth and family ministry as well as the ELCA’s Center for Diaconal Ministry. It offers an extensive program of theological education for laity including a full range of certificate in theological studies.
