Diaconal Ministry Formation Event The 2012 formation event will be held January 8-19, 2012 at Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg, PA. The deadline to apply is November 1, 2011. The formation event is considered integral to the preparation of diaconal ministry candidates. Ideally the formation event precedes seminary study and will assist the candidate in shaping their course of study and field experience. Further details will be posted soon at this site:

This annual lecture series, the premier endowed theological lectureship of the ELCA, identifies key theological issues facing the church and offers lectures that stimulate inquiry and discussion of those issues not only at the eight ELCA seminaries but throughout the church.
Pre-retirement EventsMiscellaneous dates throughout the year
ELCA plan members, ages 50 and older, are invited to attend pre-retirement seminars conducted in partnership with ELCA synods, regions, and the Board of Pensions. The two- to three-day seminars are designed with you and your family in mind, and include two individual consultations with representatives. Spouses are encouraged to attend.
