New Congregations
African national ministries through its national advisory team works on identifying potential sites for new mission starts. Once sites are identified and contacts are identified the new starts team of the African national advisory team starts to work with Synods, Mission directors, community leaders, EOCM colleagues and national consultants on the possibility of starting new missions.
ANM implores multiple entry points into the field due to the unique nature of the ministry. A given entry point into the mission field is determined through a prayerful joint consultation with a number of stakeholders such as community leaders, national consultants, mission directors, host congregations and the Synod. These entry points can be listed as;
· Home churches
· Mission fellowships Adoption of worshipping community
· Adoption of worshipping community
· Synodically Authorized Worshipping Communities
· Congregation under development
A new mission start with a clear entry point is expected to have a ministry model and an intentional mission design (IMD). Currently we have resources describing the various ministry models especially as this new missions relate to their host/companion congregations. After selecting the ministry model the new ministry starts pursue the actual work of developing the ministry based on their intentional mission design. African national ministries are developed in collaboration with existing congregations and synod outreach committees therefore their intentional mission design involves and others as critical partners of the mission.
