ELCA Disability Ministries: Every person with a disability has a right to be a member of a congregation and to serve in some capacity.Apply for the Annual Accessibility Award
The ELCA's accessibility award, made possible by the generous support of the ELCA Mission Investment Fund , the Poverty and Justice Ministry Team, the Worship Team, and the Leadership Team all of the Congregational and Synodical Mission Unit, is awarded every year by the ELCA's office for disability ministry, part of the Congregational and Synodical Mission Unit of the ELCA. Application Criteria
How are entries judged? If you are considering applying for the Accessibility Award, you might find this list of criteria helpful. A winner will be selected on three criteria:

  • The physical accessibility of the church building.
  • Outreach into the community to people who have disabilities.
  • Inclusion of people with disabilities in the worship and daily life of the congregation.
