Annual Candle Lighting Service for Mental Illness

The All-Lutheran Candle Lighting for Mental Illness will be held during the month of October. On the Sunday of their choice, Lutheran congregations are encouraged to light a candle and pray for persons with mental illness and for their families.

The National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) has put together a liturgical resource that can be used for the Lutheran Candle lighting Service.  NAMI also offers a Spanish Resource.  Also available is the liturgyPDF Format  published by the Lutheran Network for Brain Disorders and Mental Illness  Please feel free to adapt the resource to suit your congregation’s own unique needs.
