How We Serve
The regional expressions are established in order to further and strengthen the vision and work of the Lutheran communion. Its purpose is to work encourage, support, work jointly with member churches, agencies and other groups to engage in holistic ministry in the areas of proclamation, service and advocacy. These works are expressed through capacity building, consultations, leadership development, and coordination of resources.
The North American Regional Office was established to:
- strengthen the Lutheran Communion by enhancing the awareness of belonging to a global community and visible solidarity among member churches in the region
- facilitate the sharing of gifts among member churches in the areas of mission outreach, renewal in church life, and witness in church and society
- coordinate with appropriate offices/units of the member churches the interpretation and education about the LWF within the region
- coordinate and facilitate communication among member chuches, between mission partners and programs within the region and beyond, and new cooperatives by member churches and related agencies.
