Pre-Event for Youth and Women
North American Pre-Assembly Consultation
January 28, 2010
Welcome Greetings!
As the North American regional coordinator for the Women in Church and Society desk of the Lutheran World Federation, I bring you greetings.
I am looking forward to our time together immediately before the LWF North American Pre-Assembly, on Thursday, January 28th. During this time you will come to know each other as delegates and build some common understandings about the issues coming before the Stuttgart assembly, having looked at those issues through the particular lens of women in church and society.
Two of the female delegates participated in a gathering last fall of delegates from around the globe, and they will be able to share with you the results of significant work that took place in that meeting of global women. My prayer is that through this pre-event and, of course, the pre-assembly itself, you will be better equipped and empowered to complete your work as a delegate to the LWF assembly. If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
