Raising awareness of the impact of obstetric fistula on women around the globe

The National Council of Churches offers "Fistula Stories," a curriculum that begins with education on this devastating childbirth injury that affects more than 2 million women in some of the poorest and most remote parts of our world. It also includes Bible study and a process for creating an action plan. Download the curriculum and leader's guide, and find supplemental resources, a blog, and more at www.fistulastories.org.

A featured film at the 2011 Triennial Gathering, "A Walk to Beautiful," tells the story of five Ethiopian women who walk to a faraway hospital seeking treatment for their fistula.
