Our identity can be shaped by serving others. Participants in service enter the lifelong discernment process of how as a uniquely gifted individual they respond to the authentic needs of the larger world and community. It also allows for those serving to understand those being "served" are also individuals who have a vocation or calling. This is a key point: we are all created by God and are called to live in the world. At the local level, opportunity exists to engage in service in your church and community.
Here are some of the ways in which young adults are networked and connected in the ELCA and the global community. Being connected is about seeking relationship with each other, with our faith and with our communities.
Find an ELCA congregation
Are you looking for an ELCA congregation near you? Find a Congregation will help you do that!
Project Connect is spider web of connections among many and various parts of the church in the eastern United States -- seminaries, colleges, camps, campus ministries, pastors, lay leaders, congregations, social ministry organizations.
Lutheran Student Movement (LSM)
Lutheran Student Movement is a pan-Lutheran student led organization active at the local, regional, and national level created to promote the active participation of students in the life and mission of the Lutheran Church on their campuses, in their communities, and as individuals.
Lutheran World Federation
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is a global communion of Christian churches in the Lutheran tradition. Founded in 1947 in Lund, Sweden, the LWF now has 140 member churches in 78 countries all over the world representing 68.3 million Lutherans.
The World Council of Churches
The World Council of Churches (WCC) is the broadest and most inclusive among the many organized expressions of the modern ecumenical movement, a movement whose goal is Christian unity.
In addition to LWF and WCC, a number of partner and related organizations help this church get things done at home and around the globe.
