Imagine Yourself ... as a mentor and advocate for young adults and their vocational discernment!

A mentor advising a young adult on vocational discernment
[ ] ELCA Young Adult Ministry and ELCA Candidacy announce an invitation for young adults to "imagine yourself ... being who God created you to be!"

As a person who was created to be a partner with young adults in vocational discernment, we are pleased to introduce you to the Imagine Yourself materials and to suggest ways to use them:

Imagine Yourself ... inviting others into the conversation!

Imagine Yourself started as a printed tri-fold brochure that we call an "invitation." Use this resource as an invitation to a conversation on vocation with a young adult! We’ve left a space in the Web-address area for your own personalized contact information or note.

Order Imagine Yourself promotional materials from the Augsburg Fortress Distribution Center at 800-328-4648:

*   Imagine Yourself tri-fold brochures (in packages of 50)
ISBN 978-6-0002-2220-8, $7.50 per 50, $15 per 100, $30 per 300 (plus postage)
*   Imagine Yourself Display Board Sets (8.5" x 11")
ISBN 978-6-0002-2219-2, $15 per set (plus postage)

Imagine Yourself ... on the Web!

*   ELCA.org/ImagineYourself
Use the featured profiles of young adults from all across the country to inspire and stir vocational conversation with young adults. The Imagine Yourself Web site extends the stories from the Imagine Yourself brochure and highlights the ways that some young adults are "asking the questions and living the answers!"
*   Imagine Yourself Social Network
Encourage the young adults you work with to share their stories on the Imagine Yourself Social Network. It’s an interactive media site with a specific focus on discovering vocation with peers in an online community.

Imagine other possibilities ...

*   At its synod assembly, one synod gave each voting member an Imagine Yourself brochure in their packet of information. Each voting member was encouraged to use it as an invitation to a conversation about vocation with a young adult.
*   Luther Ridge Conference Center and Camp used Imagine Yourself as an invitation to a conversation about vocation with young adult summer staff.
*   A parish pastor put Imagine Yourself brochures in new member packets to begin a conversation with new congregation members about the Lutheran understanding of vocation.
*   The Northern Illinois Synod candidacy committee used Imagine Yourself to begin a partnership with the Center for Vocational Reflection at Augustana College in order to help the committee become better discernment advocates with young adults.
*   A local Women of the ELCA Unit invited women to share their call stories. Afterwards, they gave out Imagine Yourself brochures to the women and encouraged them to "pass it on" as an invitation for other women to share their stories.
*   A synodical candidacy committee used the Imagine Yourself poster boards as part of the display for an "Invitation to Service" event.

We’d love to hear from you! Let us know how you’re using the Imagine Yourself materials or if you have an idea for a resource.
