The ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans is here -- thanks for your partnership!
 
Here is some basic information. Please read it carefully. If you are not the person who should receive this, please forward appropriately.

Housing: If you haven't done so already, please reserve your hotel room. Call 800-262-2662 to reserve at the Windsor Court Hotel, 300 Gravier Street.

Shipping: All show shipping must be coordinated through Shepard Exposition Service. Advance shipping must go c/o UPSF/Shepard Exposition Services, 4201 Industrial Parkway, New Orleans LA 70129 (504-254-9384). Delivery hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. June 23 is the first day that freight can arrive without a surcharge, and July 13 is the last day that freight can arrive without surcharge.

Direct to show shipping must arrive c/o Shepard Exposition Services, Ernest Morial Convention Center, 900 Convention Center Blvd, New Orleans LA 70130. Freight will be received starting at 8:00am on July 20. Questions about shipping can be e-mailed to orlandocustsvc@shepardes.com, or call 407-888-9669.

On-site registration: You may begin to set up your area on Monday, July 20 at 8:00am. Please come to room 207 in the convention center to receive your wristband. The exhibitor wristband will give you entry into the Interaction Center as well as other Gathering venues during program hours.

We will check the exhibitor registrations to make sure that we have received your payment before we issue the wristband.

Dear Gathering Partner:

36,000 youth and adult leaders of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) are coming together for the 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans, LA, from July 22 to July 26, 2009, around the theme Jesus Justice Jazz. We invite you to join these courageous young people and adults as they enter a recovery zone with the intent to make a difference, deepen their faith, and broaden their thinking about being a Christian in the world.

If you’ve been an exhibitor at a past ELCA Youth Gathering, you will notice many differences in 2009. All of the changes were made in discernment with faith community and civic leaders in New Orleans, and with the intent to serve in the manner of Christ. This Gathering will look and feel more like a servant school than a Lutheran youth revival!

How can your organization participate in this transforming experience?

    1. Your organization can reserve an exhibit booth(s) in New Orleans'  Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, site of the Gathering’s Interaction Center. Read more about the shape of the schedule and program in the Interaction Center.
    2. Your organization can submit a proposal to sponsor an experience for young people in one of the six Interest Areas instead of, or in addition to, having a booth.

The ELCA Youth Gathering is a transforming event for youth and adults that impacts vocational discernment, directs passion, and encourages faith in people of all ages. You are cordially invited to participate with us, and contribute to our experience of Jesus Justice Jazz in New Orleans.
