Program Rotation Assignments

What will we do on what day?

 

Your group's program and service launch assignments for location, time, project, and bus numbers will be assigned to your group and posted in your online congregational registration record.

Every congregational group will rotate between three service learning experiences on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of the Gathering. 12,000 people will be out in the city of New Orleans participating in service projects (Service Day). At the same time, 12,000 people will be having guided experiences in the Interaction Center (Interaction Center Day), and 12,000 people will be doing activities on Krewes Boulevard (Learning Day) in the New Orleans Convention Center.

There are 3 different program rotation schedules that are differentiated by 3 different colors: green, purple, and gold.

Each day has a specific start time to which congregational groups will be assigned. Groups MUST SHOW UP at their assigned times and in the assigned locations or they will miss out on the opportunity.

In addition to assigned launch times, there are three launch locations for the Service Day:

When you're planning how you will get to your Launch location, consider the following approximate walking times from various hotels. This is not a comprehensive list of Gathering hotels and walking times will vary for every group.

Other things you may be wondering
  • Lunch is provided on your assigned Service Day. (12" Subway sandwich, chips, and a cookie. Bring your own water. Vegetarian sandwiches will be available.)  Feel free to bring additional food if you think the provided lunch will not be enough or if you need to provide for special dietary needs in your group.
  • Every participant is required to wear the bright orange ServantLife t-shirt on their Service Day. The t-shirt is provided by the Gathering and is for the purpose of safety and identification while in the community.
  • The Interaction CenterPDF Format in the New Orleans Convention Center is open to everyone from 2:00-5:00pm
  • Most supplies for service experiences will be provided, but some groups need to wear special clothing. Special requirements, supplies, or clothing will be posted when projects are assigned.
  • Transportation is provided to and from all service sites.
