Preparation and Formation

For over 120 years, women have served as deaconesses in the United States and Canada. These women have come from a variety of backgrounds and have offered their abilities to those in need.

Today, women that are occupationally trained and skilled in their area of desired service can offer those skills to serve those in need. They normally complete a two year degree in theological training from an accredited Lutheran seminary.
