Become a Deaconess

Deaconesses are called into community as a way of supporting one another as we answer God’s call to serve as deaconesses – a call into diaconia.

 

Support the Deaconess Community

We invite you to accompany the Deaconess Community in prayer for one another, the Church, and the world. You can also support the Community’s ministry through financial gifts, thereby strengthening its resources and extending its outreach.

 

Calling a Deaconess

As rostered leaders in the ELCA or ELCIC, deaconesses work in partnership with their synods to receive calls through congregations, synods or other authorized calling bodies.

 

Mission Support Grants

Every year, the Deaconess Community commits a significant portion of its operating funds to a Mission Support program as a way to extend its mission and ministry.
