Abigail
Abigail was the widow of the foolish Nabal and later the wife of King David. In 1 Samuel she is praised as beautiful and clever. Through her actions her entire household was saved.
1 Samuel 25Anna
Anna was an eighty-four year old widow by when Mary and Joseph came to present Jesus at the temple. She was a prophetess and became the first person to publicly proclaim that Jesus would be the long-awaited messiah.
Luke 2:36-38
Apphia Apphia was a fellow believer in Colossae, described by Paul as a sister. We can assume that she was either an active Christian or a leader in the church community since Philemon and Archippus, leaders in the church community, are mentioned in the same passage.
Philemon 1-2Canaanite Woman (or Syrophoenician Woman)
The Canaanite woman pleaded with Jesus to heal her daughter who had been suffering from demon possession. She had faith and tenacity, thus Jesus praised her saying, “Woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed instantly.

Deborah We meet Deborah in the Book of Judges, in an account of a battle which occurred around 1050 BC. She is a true heroine in the Lord who is a wonderful example of how to answer the Lord's call in our lives. Study of her story may challenge our assumptions about what and who we can be.
Judges 4-5Elizabeth Elizabeth was the cousin of Mary who was barren; she’s mentioned in the Christmas story. She was called, “righteous before God” and lived “blamelessly according to all the commandments and regulations of the Lord.” By faith, Elizabeth and her husband believed God and they conceived a son who would later become John the Baptist.
Luke 1:5-61
Euodia Euodia and Syntyche were called “co-workers” with the Apostle Paul. In Philippians he says that they are fellow ministers who have, “struggled beside me in the work of the gospel.”
Philippians 4:2-3
Eve In the creation story, God made Eve the first female. He made humankind in His image and took Eve from Adam’s rib. She is considered the mother of humankind.
Genesis 2:21-25Hannah Hannah is a woman who experienced pain that is shared by many modern women. Through her trouble she demonstrated faith and courage and has become one of the most famous women of the Bible.
1 Samuel 1 & 2Huldah Huldah was a prophetess chosen by God to help the Kings and priests interpret the scriptures. Huldah boldly answered the call of God to deliver a harsh message to the king.

Jael Jael was a strong and determined woman who was chosen by God to defeat an enemy of Israel.
Judges 4:9-5:27
Jochebed This woman was the mother of Moses. In the face of trouble she became creative and placed her trust and faith in God.
Exodus 2:1-8, Hebrews 11:23
Manoah’s wife The angel of the Lord appeared to her and told her that she would bear a great son, a Nazarite, even though she was barren. She trusted God’s messenger and obeyed all his instructions. Her son was Sampson.
Judges 13:2-24, Judges 14:2-9Mary, the mother of Jesus Mary was a humble young girl. She answered God’s call and said, “Be it unto me according to your will.” She, though a virgin, would give birth to God’s Son, Jesus. Perhaps the most well-known woman of faith in the Bible, Mary’s story is captivating.

Michal Michal was the daughter of King Saul who was caught up in political dealings. She loved her husband David and saved his life.

Moses’ sister Moses’ sister (often assumed to be Miriam) was a young woman quick on her feet and full of courage. She helped to save the life of her brother, Moses who would deliver his people.
Exodus 2:4-8Puah and Shiphrah These two women were Egyptian mid-wives ordered to kill all Hebrew males born. The Bible says that despite the King’s orders, they feared God and risked their own lives to allow the children to live. God rewarded them and blessed their families.
Exodus 1:15-22The Queen of Sheba Having heard of King Solomon’s great wealth and power, she came to see for herself. Upon discovering that the greatness of his kingdom far surpassed what she had heard, in her wisdom she recognized that the bounty came from the Lord and she blessed His name. She is even mentioned by Jesus.
1 Kings 10:1-13, 2 Chronicles 9:1-9, 2 Chronicles 9:12, Matthew 12:42Rahab Although a prostitute, this woman is renowned for her heroic faith and even had a place in the lineage of Christ.
Joshua 2:1-21, Joshua 6:17, Joshua 6:22-25, Matthew 15, Hebrews 11:31, James 2:24-26Sheerah Although little information is available about this woman, she was surely fascinating. She built or founded two cities.
1 Chronicles 7:24Widow of Zarephath This woman was attuned to the voice of God. She obeyed Him and cared for God’s prophet in spite of her own need.
1 Kings 17:8-24Woman with an alabaster jar In an act of worship and sacrifice for Jesus, this woman poured out her valuable oil to the dismay of those around her. Jesus promised that wherever the gospel is proclaimed, people will remember her.
Matthew 26:6-13
The woman suffering from hemorrhages An outcast from her community and suffering greatly, this woman cried out to Jesus in her faith and desperation. Jesus credited her with great faith and healed her.
Matthew 9:20-23, Mark 6:24-34Zipporah In a fairly obscure story, we find a discerning woman who fears God. She boldly addressed a spiritual problem in her own family as the wife of Moses.
