Vision for the Assembly
The vision for this global gathering is an opportunity to share, connect, challenge, build and strengthen which prepares us to go and serve Christ.

Atlanta, Georgia
A city with a significant past, impactful present, and hopeful future, Atlanta is an exciting and thriving metropolitan area of four million people. One of our days is reserved for educational and fun/sightseeing  trips. Sunday Worship will be at local area churches.

Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech)
Georgia Tech is one of the nation’s top research universities, distinguished by its commitment to improving the human condition through advanced science and technology. Occupying more than 400 acres in the heart of the city of Atlanta, more than 16,000 undergraduate and graduate students receive a focused and international-caliber technology based education.

Georgia Tech Facilities
All meals are being planned for the Georgia Tech Dining Hall Services and attendees will dine on the widest variety of food choices in a common location. The Ferst Center for the Arts & Student Centers provide our meeting spaces. Lodging will be apartment style and is convenient to dining hall and meeting facilities. There are four private sleeping rooms per apartment; elevators are available.

Sessions
General Assembly sessions will provide for the entire assembly to gather. Interpretation will be provided. Workshop will provide opportunity for group discussion and learning. Small Groups will meet to interact, grow, and worship.

Diaconal Ministers of the ELCA, Lutheran Deaconesses  of LDA, ELCA Deaconessesare encouraged to assist with the World Assembly; please email diakonia09@bellsouth.net. Please think about how you can help in any facet of preparation (worship, program, music, registration, hospitality, etc.)
