What if I don't see my state listed?
Just because a state is not listed in this directory does not mean that the ELCA is not actively engaged in advocacy and justice ministries in your area. There are a number of different ministries that perform advocacy functions, and many of those ministries may be active in your area. We suggest looking in the following locations for more information:
- ELCA World Hunger Appeal
- Federal Advocacy Office (ELCA Washington Office) of the ELCA
ELCA Washington Office, the ELCA's Web site (www.elca.org), and the ELCA Advocacy Web page (www.elca.org/advocacy) have a lot of information online specific to legislation happening in many different areas of the country. This office may also have information about starting an advocacy or justice ministry within your congregation, and be able to help you with these types of requests.
