Advisory Committee Membership

Membership Representation
- Minimum of six (6) at-large representatives with expertise important to the work of Corporate Social Responsibility. Representatives for these positions will be named by the executive director of the Program Unit for Church in Society in consultation with the director for Corporate Social Responsibility. Two new members will be appointed after each biennial Churchwide Assembly.
- One (1) member of the Office of the Presiding Bishop to be appointed by the presiding bishop.
- One (1) member of the ELCA Church Council to be appointed by the ELCA Church Council.
- One (1) member of the Program Committee of the Program Unit for Church in Society to be appointed by the executive director for the Program Unit for Church in Society.
- One (1) member of the ELCA Board of Pensions – Board of Trustees to be appointed by the ELCA Board of Pensions.
- One (1) member of the Women of the ELCA to be appointed by the Executive Director of the Women of the ELCA.
Officers and Steering Committee
At the first advisory committee meeting after each biennial Churchwide Assembly, the executive director shall nominate to the committee for election a chairperson and vice chairperson, who, together with the executive director of the Program Unit for Church in Society [or designee] and the director for Corporate Social Responsibility, shall constitute a steering committee.
Inclusiveness principles will be observed in the selection of committee members.
