Activities for Young Adults

 
  • Pray daily for peace in the world, in your community, in your home, in your family, in your heart
  • Study scripture regularly 
  • Attend worship and participate in Christian education regularly
  • Participate in a Global Mission Event and learn new songs, attend interesting workshops, learn about different cultures and expand your international network of friends
  • Create a plan for peace to use at home, in your neighborhood, in your congregation, and in places of work by visiting Pledge of Nonviolence Web site
  • Become active with or help organize a congregational, synodical or regional Peace Team or Committee
  • Keep a journal or blog about ways in which you are a peacemaker at home, at school, on your job, or when you are with your friends
  • Write a poem or a song, or make a video about peacemaking
  • Participate in the International Day of Prayer for Peace, September 21 (Could we include the web site of the WCC US DOV committee where this material is online?)
  • Volunteer to serve on or organize a Peace Team or Committee at your church, your campus ministry (if you attend college)
  • Play video games that are non-violent
  • Find out about and get involved with PeaceJam http://www.peacejam.org/
  • Learn about and act on public policy issues related to peace and justice remember to register and vote!
  • Learn about groups and individuals who are leaders in peacemaking efforts in their communities and the world
  • Join with peacemaking efforts of local and synodical groups including ecumenical partners, community groups, and others
  • Attend or help organize a training related to peace, justice and/or nonviolence issues
  • Join the ELCA Equipping for Peacemaking Network
