International Day of Prayer for Peace

Congregations are encouraged to participate in the observance of this day by offering special prayers for peace on September 21 or on the preceding Sunday.
Decade for a Culture of Nonviolence

International Day of Prayer for Peace
ELCA congregations, institutions, and organizations are invited to join others from around the world in praying for peace, Sunday, September 21 or the Sunday preceding that day. The World Council of Churches' International Day of Prayer for Peace offers an opportunity for church communities in all places to pray and act together to nurture lasting peace in the hearts of people, their families, communities and societies.
