Resources From Holy Land
Worship resources from the indigenous churches of Israel-Palestine.
The relationship with our partner churches in the Holy Land is a two-way street in which we share time, talents and resources. This is true also for worship liturgies and hymns. Below is a sampling of some of the resources from the churches of the Holy Land that have been prepared for English-speaking worship settings. Consider this new way to engage in Christian communion with our brothers and sisters in Israel-Palestine.
Bihubika Rabbi
Bihubika Rabbi, "With Your Love, Lord," is a favorite hymn in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land and among the Arab-Middle Eastern congregations here in the United States. ELCA member Fuad Nijim translated this hymn from Arabic to English. Fuad explains that ELCJHL congregations sing two types of hymns: those adapted from traditional European hymns with western tunes and folkloric hymns, such as Bihubika Rabbi, sung by Arab Christians in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and Jordan.
