What We Do

In 2005, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) adopted the “Strategy for Engagement in Israel and Palestine” (check it out here) and urged members to participate in the Peace Not Walls campaign.

In 2007, the ELCA reaffirmed the call to justice in the Holy Land, and went further – looking at the possibility of “purchasing…products from Palestinian providers and…the feasibility of refusing to buy products produced in Israeli settlements.”

In 2007, the ELCA made more explicit the call for economic initiatives – looking at the possibility of “purchasing…products from Palestinian providers and…the feasibility of refusing to buy products produced in Israeli settlements.”

All in the ELCA are encouraged to express solidarity with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land (ELCJHL) and concern for all the people of the Holy Land through education, worship, prayer, giving, and advocacy.
