Long-term Responses

Haiti
When a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the land of Haiti the ELCA was able to respond quickly. Thanks to our companion church in Haiti, with the support of your donations, the ELCA was able to help the people of Haiti in their time of need—and we will be there for as long as we're needed.

Pakistan
The worst floods on record have brought destruction to Pakistan. In collaboration with the other members of the ACT (Action by Churches) Alliance and Church World Service (CWS), the ELCA continues to assess the needs of the many people affected by the flooding.

Less than two weeks after the strongest quake in over 50 years hit central Chile, an earthquake with a 7.2 magnitude again rocked this country. Assessment continues and plans formulated for additional response efforts.
