Becoming a Disaster Volunteer
When the ELCA responds to disaster internationally, the primary ways we respond are prayer, financial contributions, and faithful accompaniment of our partner churches. Domestically, however, volunteers are perhaps our greatest asset. Lutherans have become well-known in the United States disaster response community as the experts in long-term disaster recovery.
Volunteers are coordinated by Lutheran Disaster Response, a collaborative ministry of the ELCA and The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. To learn more about where volunteers are needed, the types of skill sets that are most helpful, and how you can become involved, visit www.ldr.org/volunteer.
Thank you to for your support of this important ministry of our church! And if your interested, fill out the form to the right to be added to our disaster e-mail list.
