Climate Change

This Tookit will help introduce your audience to the intersections between climate change and hunger. Through activities and conversation, explore these intersections and our appropriate responses.

	choose from several activities to create a custom learning experience built especially for your gathering.


	What Does it Mean that the Earth is Warming? This activity creates a space to think about ways in which climate change will impact the planet and the living things on it. Making Connections: Our Web of Resources By creating an actual 'web', participants make connections between themselves and all of creation.		The Weekend Cartographer: Mapping Climate Change This drawing activity is designed to help participants imagine how some specific communities could change given the current warming trend of the planet.		The Weather Channel: Forecasting a Warmer Planet Participants will act out a newscast to encourage thinking about the ways climate change will impact the planet and those most vulnerable.


	Watch and Learn: "Sister on the Planet" By watching and discussing this documentary, participants will learn about the realities of climate change and the impact it has on the most vulnerable people of the planet. Global Warming Case Studies By reading and discussing two actual case studies, participants will raise their awareness about the impacts of a warming planet, especially weather patterns.		Jelly Bean This fun and tasty activity helps participants experience how climate change affects the limited resources of countries and therefore how it affects hunger. This portion of the Hunger Education Toolkit is designed to provide participants with opportunities to put their learnings into action. There are a number of projects and actions suggested here.


	Either during or after your learning experience, you and your group may want to start fighting hunger and climate change in a very concrete way. If so, choose this option for a project that can be done as a group now or in the near future. Most ideas can also be found in the "Closing and Action" module above".
