Connect
Connect with other hunger leaders and the ELCA World Hunger staff
Lots of people throughout the ELCA are involved in the work of fighting hunger. Below are some ways to join the community.
Use WebEx to attend meetings from your house
Hunger leaders are busy people. What’s more, they rarely live in the same place. So getting together for meetings can be tricky and time consuming. That’s where WebEx comes in!
WebEx is online meeting software that allows people to meet from anywhere that has both an Internet and phone connection. This might be your house, your local church, or the airport with your laptop and cell phone. In addition to holding hunger team meetings, you might want to use it to offer an online seminar about a hunger-related topic in your community, or to connect with hunger leaders in other parts of the country. Better still, WebEx is free to hunger leaders using it to conduct hunger work.
If you’d like to use WebEx, simply contact Nancy Michaelis. She or one of the other hunger staff will accompany you and your team through the whole process, from scheduling, to preparing, to the meeting itself. And if you’re curious but a little uncertain, give Nancy a call. She’s happy to talk to you about your concerns, hold a demonstration for you, or even put you in touch with other hunger leaders who have used it and lived to tell!
Become a Hunger Contact!
If you’d like to receive the World Hunger resource packets and/or LifeLines newsletter, make sure you’re on our mailing list! Complete the contact form for yourself or on behalf of someone else who wants to get involved. Also, if you’ve moved, please use this form to submit your most recent contact information. If you’re not sure whether you’re on the list or not, please fill out the form again. Duplicates are automatically purged, so you won’t get the same mailing twice.
Hunger Rumblings
The causes of world hunger -- and possible solutions -- are many and complex. We often bump into them as we go about our daily lives. It gives a person lots to think about. So the World Hunger staff has taken to expressing our thoughts publicly, through the Hunger Rumblings blog. Here you’ll find what’s on our minds, from the serious to the puzzling to the interesting to the exciting. In writing down our thoughts, we hope it gives you a resource for your own work and thought. What’s more, we very much hope you’ll join the conversation through your comments on the blog. The more voices, the richer the exchange as we all walk on this journey together.
World Hunger Staff
The ELCA World Hunger staff is always happy to hear from you and help in whatever ways they can. Download this PDF file

Go and Do News
The “Go and Do News” is a bulletin the ELCA World Hunger staff puts together whenever there are several items we need to share. The most recent is available below. In addition, we email it to all hunger leaders for whom we have a valid email address. If you do not receive it but would like to, please contact Nancy Michaelis. Click here to find these documents.
