Our New Look

Prior to 2013, the disaster work of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) internationally and domestically was referred to as ELCA Disaster Response. The ELCA was previously engaged in a cooperative domestic disaster ministry with The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, referred to as Lutheran Disaster Response. Since The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod’s decision to end its participation in cooperative work, Lutheran Disaster Response has become a ministry exclusively of the ELCA. Because of this change, the ELCA’s domestic and international disaster work will now be referred to as Lutheran Disaster Response.
