Covalence is a monthly online publication of the ELCA Alliance for Faith, Science & Technology. Published 10 times a year, this e-bulletin centers on the places and people where the theology is faithful and the science is credible. Monthly news and feature stories include a variety religion and science topics and profiles theologians and scientists who incorporate faith and science in their lives. We often feature papers and thought pieces on faith and science activity.

Susan Barreto Susan is a journalist who has been following religion and science since 2003 with articles appearing in various newsletters and The Lutheran magazine. She is also a deputy editor of a monthly hedge fund magazine owned by Euromoney Institutional Investor. Susan is a long-time member of Luther Memorial Church in Chicago, where she lives with her husband and son. She is also a member of the ELCA Alliance for Faith, Science and Technology in addition to maintaining a membership in the Institute for Religion in an Age of Science. Susan developed more than a passing interest in religion and science in reading science fiction and an early curiosity in mysteries of the past that remain unanswerable in the present.
