Reconciliation and Restoration

While the promise of salvation is one of the greatest comforts to a Christian, we can never forget that salvation exists because of our need for it. The reconciliation of the individual and the church lie at the heart of Luther's reforms, and they remain at the heart of the church today as our interactions with the world open us up to new ways that the church must be a force of restoration in all it does. The need to constantly explore our own reconciliation in Christ and with the world is a drive that Christians cannot ignore, and therefore one which scholars must continually revisit in order to establish within the church a healthy understanding of its relationship with both people and God.
