Support for the Haitian People

Resolved
To receive with appreciation the memorial of the Grand Canyon Synod that calls for support of the Haitian people;

To convey the memorial of the Grand Canyon Synod to the World Hunger Appeal with the request that information about Haiti be shared with congregations in the coming months;

To encourage ELCA members to learn more about the difficult situation in Haiti, to advocate on behalf of people in need in Haiti, to give generously to the ELCA World Hunger Appeal so that it can continue and increase its substantial support for the work of the Lutheran World Federation and Lutheran World Relief, and to pray for the people of Haiti; and

To request the secretary of this church to share this resolution of support with the Lutheran World Federation and Lutheran World Relief.
