Passed by the 2004 ELCA Church Council.

To receive the response of the Division for Church in Society to the resolution of the Southeastern Iowa Synod related to "Medicare and Health Care"; and

To acknowledge that the issues related to Medicare are both complex and urgent, but to support the recommendation of the division that it continue its ongoing public policy advocacy related to Medicare within the broader policy context of the social statement "Caring for Health: Our Shared Endeavor" and in consultation with social ministry organizations that provide health care to Medicare-eligible people.
