Ending World Hunger

Resolved
To respond to the resolution of the Pacifica Synod Assembly on a study of status confessionis and world hunger by commending the Pacifica Synod Assembly for calling attention to pervasive world hunger and this church’s responsibility to overcome it;

To encourage members of this church to renew their commitment to fight world hunger, especially by supporting the ELCA World Hunger and Disaster Appeal;

To request that the Journal of Lutheran Ethics publish articles on the proposal to make stopping world hunger a matter of status confessionis;

To decline to undertake a study looking at raising hunger to the principle of status confessionis; and

To request that the secretary of this church inform the synod of this action.
