Indecent Literature

A Statement of the United Lutheran Church in America, 1936

1936: Minutes, 10th Biennial Convention, ULCA, pp. 373, 377.

We condemn the flood of indecent literature, especially magazines, vile beyond belief, freely and contrary to law on sale at news stands and other public places in many communities, and recommend that pastors and other leaders investigate this matter in their own communities and co-operate with local law enforcement officers and others for the elimination of this evil, as has been done in Lancaster, Harrisburg and other places.
