Christ the Mediator Lutheran Church

Christ the Mediator Lutheran Church, 3100 South Calumet, was organized in 1960 in the Lake Meadows-Prairie Shores area of the near South Side of Chicago as a member of the United Lutheran Church in America (ULCA).
Neighborhood visitations by Anna Larson starting in May 1959 and the calling of Pastor Gerald C. Kline by the Board of American Missions of theULCA led to the organization of Christ the Mediator on May 8, 1960.
In February 1960 land was purchased on East 31st Street, where a church building was completed by April 1966.
