Edison Park Lutheran Church
Edison Park Lutheran Church, 6626 N. Oliphant Avenue at Avondale, was organized on February 27, 1927, through the work of the Home Mission Board of the Norwegian Lutheran Church in America. The Home Mission Board provided funds for the erection of a portable church building. In June 1929 work began on a permanent building, with dedication of that structure taking place on December 22.
In 1951 the front entrance and north tower were rebuilt, a new educational-office wing was added, and the sanctuary was redesigned and enlarged.
