Emmaus Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church
Emmaus Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Congregation (or Emmaus Norsk Evangelisk Lutherske menighet) was organized on February 23, 1892 and was a member of the United Norwegian Lutheran Church. The congregation constructed a building in 1892 on the northeast corner of the intersection of N. Springfield Ave. and Iowa St.
In 1911 Emmaus merged into Bethlehem Lutheran, which constructed a new building at Springfield & Iowa in 1912. In 1925 Bethlehem merged with St. Paul English Lutheran and Our Savior Lutheran to form United Lutheran. In 1957 United moved to Oak Park, Ill.

The ELCA Archives has microfilm of Emmaus' membership records from 1894 to 1911 on film #899. Emmaus' original record books should be located at United Lutheran Church, 409 Greenfield St., Oak Park, IL 60302-1143.
