St. John's Norwegian Lutheran Church

St. John's Norwegian Lutheran Church was organized in 1890 as Messiah Lutheran and reorganized as St. John's on January 6, 1891. Its first building was constructed in 1892, its second in 1894 and its third in 1904. It was located at Cortez and Richmond Streets in the Humboldt Park neighborhood and was a member of the Norwegian Synod.
This congregation may have been the St. John's that was absorbed by St. Paul's English Lutheran Church in 1919.
