St. Paul's Norwegian Lutheran Church

St. Paul's Norwegian Lutheran Church, at 2219 W. North Ave. at Lincoln, in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, was organized in 1873 and was originally a member of the Norwegian Synod.
In 1918 Pastor G.A. Gullixson and the St. Paul's congregation opted not to participate in the merger forming the Norwegian Lutheran Church of America, instead joining the newly-formed Norwegian Synod of the American Evangelical Lutheran Church, commonly known as the "Little Norwegian Synod," and currently known as the Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
St. Paul's later left the ELS and is now known as St. Paul's Community Church of Wicker Park. It can be reached at 2215 W. North Ave., Chicago, IL 60647-5429. Records before 1907 are not at the church and no longer appear to exist.
