Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church

Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, an English-language congregation, was organized on September 16, 1908, as a member of the Augustana Synod. The church building, constructed in 1911, was located at Glenwood and Rosedale in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago.
In 1918 Bethel merged into Immanuel (1853, Augustana Synod). In 1922 Immanuel moved to 1500 W. Elmdale, near the former location of Bethel.

Films are available from the ELCA Archives and from the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill.
