ELCA TV ads that aired nationally in 2009

 

The ELCA brand campaign has gone national. After two years of research, testing and tweaking, the ads were broadcast nationally on CNN, CNN Headline News, Fox News, HGTV and DIY Network March 30 – April 19 and May 11 – 31, 2009.

The TV ads are supported with print, outdoor and online advertising artwork that can be used by congregations. Some of the ad materials are customizable to include a congregation's name and address.

Tell Your Ministry Story

The ELCA "God's work. Our hands." Video Contest

Each of the TV ads featured a ministry of this church and the ELCA's tagline: "God's work. Our hands." But these are just two stories, and this church is filled with thousands more.

We invited ELCA members to tell their stories. We asked them, "How is God at work in this world through your hands?"

  • Do you know of congregations that run local soup kitchens or food pantries?
  • What about youth groups that mow lawns and fix neighborhood park benches?
  • How about a women's circle that knits prayer shawls?
  • What are members of this church doing today to minister in their communities?

As of July 15, 2009, more than 220 individuals and congregations submitted their 30- to 90-second videos. Watch them at www.GodsworkOurhands.org

Prizes include a $5,000 ministry grant for an ELCA congregation or a $2,500 cash prize for an individual.
 
The winners will be announced at the 2009 ELCA Churchwide Assembly in August.
