Be a proud ambassador of the ELCA

The campaign presented in this site is designed to grow awareness of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and its continuing mission to share God's boundless love with the world.
Our goal is to invite newcomers and members to become fully engaged in an ELCA congregation and in the ELCA as a church body.

We invite you, today, to be a proud ambassador of our church. Spread the word about the many lives affected positively by the ELCA. Read stories of our faith in action. Ask your pastor or a leader in your congregation about programs and ministries your congregation offers. Invite a friend to come to worship the next time you go. Tell them about the ELCA and how it brings meaning and purpose to your life.

If you are an ELCA member, by increasing your involvement, you renew your role as a proud ambassador of the ELCA. Through your everyday words and actions, you can encourage friends and neighbors who are seeking faith to join us, making a true, lasting difference in their lives. Find your congregation.

of the ELCA tagline.

What four words would you use to describe the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America?

In a recent column in "The Lutheran" magazine, ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson explained how he uses the tagline as a way to share about his faith, hope and mission.

The ELCA is proud of its commitment to be a Book of Faith church, a church where Scriptures are part of our everyday life. "God’s work. Our hands." is a way to open a door to conversation about that life of faith and an opportunity to tell the story of how we live in service for the life of the world.

“We do God’s work, not because God needs us to do so, but because our neighbor does. We do God’s work in Christ’s name for the life of the world,” wrote Bishop Hanson.
